Subject of next English Chat 26 Feb

IML English Dept.

2 subjects as follows:
1. To tell a short story to the others, an anecdote or other and the group has to guess if it's true or not.
2. Choose a colour, a number and a place which are significant in some way personally because of association with something in your life (eg. "blue" because you love the sea, "66" because it's your house number or your age! and "the Seychelles" because it's where you spent your honeymoon) The group tries to find the significance by asking questions.

Hope this is clear
Val

Just to let you know that I'm organising a St Patrick's fundraising event on the 16th March in Les Herbiers. 10euros the ticket. Music, Food and Drink???

Any questions?

Juliet

Solihull Blog

I'd really like to find a few key players to writs things on the Solihull blog. Someone that likes to write and also has some idea of how to use a computer. If you could find a few students for me that would be great as at the moment it's a little slow getting off the ground.

It's a challenge folks....

Calling "penpal" teachers

PENFRIEND UPDATE

I'd like you to check up on how things are going for penfriends please.

I have 4 and all is going well.

Aline you have 4: Dominique,Nathalie, Réjane and the young girl. I've told Andy's teacher that there's a technical problem. She'll see next Monday in class.

Anne, I've written to Donatien and given him another contact. Let me know how that's goes and I hope all is well for Estelle.

Val has your student had any luck with her penfriend?

Tim I'm going to put your two students penfriends details in your pigeon hole tomorrow and see if you can sort it out.

So keep on letting me know how it's going that's great.
Thanks Juliet

English Chat up-date

IML English Dept.
Last Monday we had 11 people and 4 teachers (who are also people of course before anyone makes a comment!) and a good time was had by all. 12th Night cakes and new soft drink products supplied kindly by l'Abeille were on the menu along with lots of CHAT. We had expected more to turn up but I think the bad weather and a tempting evening at home in front of the TV probably contributed to the attendance figures.
The next Chat is 26 February at 8pm so spread the word to trainees and any teachers interested are also very welcome.

We need YOU!

Dear devoted colleagues!

We need YOU! As you all know, we've organised a trip to Jersey - Fri 20th, Sat 21st, Sun 22nd April 2007. 7 adults are going. Everything is ready, B&B , ferry, suitcases packed, and all... All we need now is an English teacher from the IML to join the fun. C'mon, stop fighting, not everybody at the same time!!!... The plan is that students share the teacher's expenses (B&B, ferry and meals).
I would personnally be very disappointed if we had to cancel this trip. Not to mention the students...

So, if you're interested and need more info, contact myself or Aline.

Thanks,

nadine

Tim

Happy New Year first of all....

Right now let's get down to business....I haven't heard anything from your students. Have they had any luck with their penfriends?

If you have their emails you can pop them in my pigeon hole. I don't mind contacting them directly. I just need their contact.

Anyway that's all for now

Juliet
